Punto 2000
Punto 2000
Punto 2000 table

Punto 2000 is available in most Stanley Casinos and is always a hotbed of excitement. It is a game of chance and is played to a predetermined order of play that you don’t really need to remember. What you have to decide is whether to place your bet on the ‘Punto’ hand (the Player), the ‘Banco’ hand (the Banker) or Egalite (a tie between the two hands). You bet to a set of fixed odds that never change.

HOW TO PLAY

The table will indicate the three areas of Punto, Banco or Egalite where you can place your bet. The object of the game is to bet on the hand which will come closer to a total count of 9. 10’s, picture cards and any combinations of cards totalling 10, count as zero. For example: 5 + 5 = 0, Jack + 4 = 4, 8 + 5 = 3, Queen + 10 = 0.

Two cards are drawn by the Dealer, the first card is the Punto card, the second card is the Banco card. This process is repeated until both hands (the Punto and the Banco) have two cards each. The Dealer then announces the totals of each hand.

At this stage, the Dealer will decide whether a third card is to be drawn according to the rules of play. These are as follows: Punto/Player Hand If there is a tie, bets on Egalite are paid out at 8-1. Bets on Punto and Banco are a stand off.

GETTING STARTED

This game is played with either six or eight packs of cards. The cards are shuffled by a Dealer and cut by a Player before being placed in the ‘shoe’. Bets must be placed before any cards are drawn. A player betting on a winning Punto hand receives even money. A player betting on Banco, is paid even money. When the bank wins with a score of 6 all winning bets will be paid at 1-2.
