Stanley Leisure announces the opening of the Star City Casino in Birmingham, the biggest casino in the UK to date. Unique new Las Vegas entertainment experience comes to Birmingham in a glittering Star City first.

Viva Las Vegas! All the glitz, glamour and thrills of live cabaret entertainment, top quality hospitality and modern gaming are being brought together by Stanley Casinos at the massive, groundbreaking new Star City Casino.

It’s time to put any preconceptions about the casino environment on hold as this is a totally new departure, offering a unique leisure experience accessible to everyone, from the experienced gamer to fun-seeking parties and corporate groups.

Stanley Casinos is the first in Britain to realize this vision of an integrated entertainment complex based on the very best of the American experience, ahead of industry deregulation expected next year.

Siting of the development at Star City, an established mixed leisure facility in Britain’s second largest city, was a natural choice, with good access from major conurbations and airports.

This is entertainment on a grand scale. The Star City Casino occupies four floors of architect-designed space, over 70,000sq.ft., which even outstrips the biggest football pitch.

Star City has the largest licensed table gaming floor in the UK and is ideally placed to take full advantage of the most recent DCMS proposals for large-scale casinos. At greater than 10,000 sq ft of table gaming area, Star city Casino would qualify for unlimited numbers of Gaming Machines

It’s a multi-million pound investment in the building structure alone and will create 300 new jobs to cater for a membership base of more than 50,000, with up to 2000 members and guests able to be accommodated at any one time.

In the Vegas Show Bar theatre, they can enjoy the scintillating ‘Viva Vegas’ cabaret, with intimate dining for up to 200 covers and a star-studded cast which recreates the best days of live cabaret entertainment.

Adjacent on the ground floor, for the first time in Britain, are hundreds of the latest and greatest gaming machines with stunning graphics and features previously unseen in this country, all served by the Jackpots Refreshment Bar.

This high-energy area is open 24 hours a day for playing slots with food and drinks available throughout, non-alcoholic outside licensing hours.

The main gaming area itself is huge, with forty gaming tables, including all the latest technologies, such as Electronic Roulette and Progressive Casino Stud Poker.

This innovation links many games together to set up a progressive jackpot, which has provided big, six figure wins for a £1 stake.

The large gaming floor offers the best of traditional roulette and card games in one elegant space, along with popular newcomers like Sic-Bo, the dice game from the Far East, or a spin on the exciting Big Six Money Wheel.

In our purpose built theatre environment, The Vegas Show Bar, a roll call of stars from music, comedy and TV will perform using the latest sound and lighting technology.

For the first five nights from November 19th, The Sounds of the Supremes, specially flown in from America, will get everything off to a storming start by headlining the Champagne Show, whilst the ‘Viva Vegas’ dinner & cabaret show will take you back to the days of swing, with fabulous routines, gorgeous chorus girls and the Rat Pack

Forthcoming attractions include, Gwen Dixcey’s Rose Royce, the fabulous Boney M, comedian Bobby Davro, The New Drifters, The Grumblweeds, Hale and Pace, The Beijing Chinese Acrobats and stunning tributes to Nat King Cole and Shirley Bassey.

That’s entertainment Las Vegas style and that’s what the Star City Casino will be offering first time following its grand opening on Saturday 22nd November which will be attended by a host of TV stars, including the notorious couple from the East End ( Steve McFadden and Lucy Benjamin) Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow ( Chris Gascoyne), with both wives, along with Les Battersby ( Bruce Jones) and former Boyzone star Ciaran McCarthy.
